Tari Selamat Datang (The Welcome Dance) of Papua

Tari Selamat Datang or the welcome dance of Papua is an attractive performance. The performers are adult men with Papuan traditional costumes including the cendrawasih bird feathers as hair accessories. Some of them holding and playing a long narrow drum, while some others, usually 2 men, blowing fluted clam shell and dancing. The dance is performed to honour a guest or to welcome special guests.
